Attica 'Classical Owl' Tetradrachm


Silver, 17.36 grams, 22.53 mm. Athens. After 393 BC. Obverse: no legend, head of Athena right, in crested Attic helmet, with frontal eye and wavy hair above forehead, ornamented with three olive leaves above visor and spiral palmette on bowl, wearing round earring. Reverse: AQE, owl standing right, head facing; olive-sprig and crescent above. Sear 2526-2528; SNG Copenhagen 63. Good very fine.
